We first met in college back in 2008, brought together by a classmate’s project doomed never to begin. We hit it off right away, but the timing was never right, resulting in 4 arduous years of will-they-won’t-they. It took us being an ocean apart, but in 2012 Teagan asked Sarah to be her girlfriend, and we’ve been inseparable since.
From travelling to Seattle and Japan, to cooking and hiking at home, to long drives and breakfasts in bed.

We knew we each wanted to propose and be proposed to, so we picked a day and surprised each other with a morning and a sunset proposal!
The Gothic Tea Party
For Sarah’s proposal, we asked friends to join us at Westmount Park around noon. They came out in their gothic finest, brought delightful food and drink, and decked out the gazebo in blacks and purples. Our friend Renée sang a beautiful personal song, and Sarah got down on one knee.

The Sunset Hike
Teagan conspired with Sarah’s high school friends, arranging a hike through the Morgan Arboretum at its most vibrant. We then headed to Cap-Saint-Jacques, where a video call distracted Sarah long enough for Teagan to unfurl a banner at magic hour, with the sun setting over the water behind her. The evening was capped off with an unforgettable sushi dinner.
